I have recently started working for and learning from Penny Stone of Whole Horse Power. I'm really excited because I know that I'll learn a lot about TTouch techniques, and more ways to help horses do their jobs in relaxation and without pain. She'll be holding a TTouch and TTeam clinic on the 23rd and 24th of April at River Horse on Bluff Springs Road. Please contact Penny if you're interested at 512-917-1866 or Wholehorsewoman@yahoo.com.

Our riding clinic last weekend was a great success. During the lunch hour on Sunday we discussed the muscles of the equine neck and importance of developing them correctly for self carriage. I gave the group a good take-home massage move to give their horses some light work on the muscles used to lift the forelimbs. In addition, we discussed the saddle area and the importance of correct placement for freer shoulders and a happier horse. Look for more of these "muscle talks" at the clinics in May and September.

I spent some time with Dr. Sharon Shull learning about Thermal Imaging on Saturday. We imaged several horses two of which I have massaged, one of them on a regular basis for over a year. I got to see how the process works and learn a little bit about what we were seeing in the thermograms. It's easy to see how this could be a valuable service to owners, especially in the areas of saddle fit, and pinpointing problems that present themselves as a lower level of performance, but not necessarily lameness. I've included some images of horses' backs and saddles as well as various other images.Look for more info about Thermal Imaging services from Dr. Shull in the future!
